internship day 1:
get me out of here
#this was a horrible day#overchallenged by the sudden strangeness of the situation#entirely underchallenged by being given... no instructions and... nothing to do?#like if i hadn't actively started to go around and knock on doors the entire team would've just forgotten i exist#why the fuck am i here then? if you don't think up-and-coming journalists can do your work then don't employ any#like i am used to publish one text a day (sometimes one in two days or three in one day depending on size and timing)#and you tell me there is nothing i can do or help with#the utter strangeness of being sat in an office with a newspaper witht claus' portrait in there like a reminder of why i'm here#and then meeting the woman who contacted him about it#and she's treating you like a 6 yo. girl and gives you a stack of articles to read to “learn how to write”.#and hearing repeatedly “we talk to a lot of cool people here and we go to pretty awesome events - but you won't be doing that”#then why am i here#what is even more frustrating is that interns from other departments tell a completely different story#i'm dreading going back tomorrow and i cannot grasp how one of the biggest newspapers in the country can't integrate interns properly#i can only hope it gets better each day#munich
